MY STYLE IS MAINLY DOCUMENTARY AND NATURAL BUT I WILL NOT LET YOU HANGING IF YOU ARE FEELING UNSURE AND INDEED WOULD WELCOME SOME GUIDANCE. I CAPTURE IN A JOURNALISTIC WAY THE WEDDING DAY’S NATURAL FLOW WITH ALL THE LITTLE DETAILS AND MOMENTS AS THEY UNFOLD. AT THE SAME TIME, EVERY PHOTO IS TREATED INDIVIDUALLY WITH A CREATIVE VISION OF A FINE ART APPROACH.

HAVING BEEN A WEDDING PROFESSIONAL FOR 5 YEARS, I’VE SHOT EVENTS IN ALL LOCATIONS, IN ALL WEATHER, WITH ALL TYPES OF LIGHTING AND UNDER ALL KINDS OF SCHEDULING, SO FEEL ASSURED THAT YOU’RE IN SAFE AND COMPETENT HANDS.

COMMON QUESTIONS

WHAT IF IT RAINS?

Most venues will have a contingency plan if the weather is poor. There will always be a spare room, stairwell or foyer for group photos and those of the bride and groom. If it isn’t too bad we can always take a walk under an umbrella and find some sheltered spots for your photos, but whatever the weather, indoors or out, I’ll make sure you get great images.

GROUP SHOTS

People tend to hire me for my relaxed documentary style of photography, but I do like to include some formals in the final set of photos. I also understand that some people from an older generation (not mentioning any names Mums and Dads) like to have some of the more traditional shots and it’s nice to keep them happy. I understand how important family group shots are but try to keep it to a minimum so you can enjoy your day fully.20 minutes is usually more than enough.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU ARE UNWELL ON THE DAY?

My wedding kit contains Lemsip, tissues and plasters in case of emergencies! But should I, for example, break my leg and be unable to physically cover your wedding I have access to a network of wedding photographers that provide coverage

DO YOU WORK WITH A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER?

I don't typically work with a second photographer because working solo allows me to be more discreet and shoot the documentary images that really bring the feeling of your wedding alive. However, if you are planning a large wedding or feel your ceremony coverage would benefit from two photographers please contact me to discuss our options and I can advise you on whether it would enhance your coverage.

DO YOU TRAVEL?

Of course! I love to travel and my passport is at the ready and even though I love photographing weddings in Nottingham you can’t beat a little adventure abroad.

DO YOU TAKE PHOTOS DURING THE WEDDING BREAKFAST?

I don’t take pictures of people eating, no-one looks good doing it, and we want you and your guests to enjoy your food and not feel self-conscious.

WHAT CAMERAS AND KIT DO YOU USE? DO YOU HAVE BACKUPS?

I use 2 professional Nikon digital cameras with a variety of lenses and flashes. I also have a extra back-up cameras just in-case.

WHAT IS THE BOOKING PROCEDURE?

Once you’ve got in touch and we’ve confirmed I am available for your wedding date, a non-refundable £100 deposit is required to secure your day along with a short booking form/contract.

About Thom

Hi! I’m Thom and I’m a wedding photographer based in Nottingham, but I shoot weddings all over the UK and abroad. Writing about myself is not something that comes naturally to me, But here is my best attempt. My interest started in photography at an early age. in fact, the first thing I ever save money for was a camera. I feel lucky to be doing something I genuinely enjoy as a job. My career in photography really took off when I started working for a photography studio in Derby, There I learnt a lot of the fundamentals of working as a professional photographer. As much as I loved working in a studio I was drawn to the independence and variety that wedding photography offers. Outside of photography, I am very much interested in travel. I don't think there are many things in life that are as exciting as exploring a new city/country (the stranger the better). My two passions have increasingly become more and more linked together.

Below is a few photos taken in the last two years from my phone's camera roll.
